Berger-Seidle AquaSeal Pinkqualizer
Reactive Water-Based Tone Neutralizer • Eliminates Pink & Red Tones in a Single Step
AquaSeal Pinkqualizer is a professional-grade, water-based reactive stain designed to cancel out pink and red hues commonly found in red oak and other reddish hardwood species. Using a safe, modern waterborne system, this 2-component product reacts directly with the wood to lighten, neutralize, and refine unwanted color—all in just one application.
Unlike traditional multi-step bleach systems, Pinkqualizer is faster, more forgiving, more affordable, and comes in a convenient mix box that makes measuring and mixing different quantities extremely easy. It can be used under every Berger-Seidle waterborne finish, solvent systems, sealers, Classic ExpressStain COLOR, and even oil-modified urethanes.
If you want a cleaner, more modern canvas before stain or finish, this is the contractor’s go-to.
Key Performance Benefits
• One-Step Red/Pink Neutralization
Specialized reactive technology eliminates red and pink undertones in a single coat, creating a more balanced, natural-looking floor without the harshness of traditional two-part bleaches.
• Lightens & Brightens
Pinkqualizer both softens coloration and evens out grain contrast, helping red oak floors look dramatically upgraded.
• Works With Every System
Compatible with waterborne finishes, solvent finishes, sealers, oils, and Berger-Seidle Classic ExpressStain COLOR.
• Extremely Forgiving
As long as the user does not leave puddles, the product levels well and behaves consistently. It’s nearly idiot-proof by design.
• Perfect Base for Whites & Pastels
Because it raises the grain slightly (similar to water-popping), it creates an ideal surface for high-clarity white, Nordic, pastel, or desaturated stain colors.
Dustin’s Notes (Real-World Contractor Tips)
• You can spray, roll, mop-on, or T-bar/back-T-bar.
• Many installers who are already good with a roller have had success dip-rolling without back-brushing.
• Edges & stairs: Best done with a Duratool pad—fast, consistent, predictable.
• Expect mild grain raise (similar to water popping).
• If going straight to a clear sealer, knock it down with a maroon pad once dry.
• If you’re already water-popping for colors like Country White, Latte Macchiato, etc., then no extra step is added.
• Allow the full 12 hours of drying before applying stain, sealer, or finish.
