Berger-Seidle AquaSeal Pinkqualizer

This is the system we reach for when red or pink tones need to be eliminated cleanly before stain or finish.

AquaSeal Pinkqualizer is a professional-grade, water-based reactive tone neutralizer designed to cancel pink and red undertones commonly found in red oak and other warm-toned hardwoods. This two-component system reacts directly with the wood to lighten, neutralize, and refine color in a single application.

Unlike traditional multi-step bleach systems, Pinkqualizer is faster, more forgiving, and more economical, while delivering consistent results that are easier to control on real jobsites. It creates a cleaner, more neutral canvas without harsh bleaching or fiber damage.

Pinkqualizer is compatible with all Berger-Seidle waterborne finishes, solvent systems, sealers, Classic ExpressStain COLOR, oil-modified urethanes, and most professional finishing systems.

Same-day shipping • Freeze protection included • Local pickup available in Saint Paul, MN

Why contractors use Pinkqualizer

  • One-step neutralization of pink and red undertones

  • Lightens and evens grain contrast without harsh bleaching

  • Faster and more forgiving than traditional two-part bleach systems

  • Compatible with waterborne, solvent, and oil-modified finishes

  • Ideal prep for white, Nordic, pastel, and desaturated stain colors

Where Pinkqualizer shines

  • Red oak floors needing a modern, neutral base

  • Older floors with stubborn reddish cast

  • Prepping for Scandinavian, white, or pastel finishes

  • Jobs where bleach would be too aggressive or unpredictable

  • Contractors wanting speed and consistency

Application overview

  • Mix Component A and Component B at a 1:1 ratio

  • Apply evenly with microfiber roller, trim pad, T-bar, brush, or applicator

  • Maintain a wet edge and avoid puddling

  • Allow 12 hours of dry time before staining or finishing

Note: Mild grain raise is normal and similar to water popping. If going directly to a clear system, knock down raised grain with a maroon pad after drying.

Dustin’s Notes

This is one of the easiest ways to fix red oak without turning the job into a chemistry experiment. If you already water-pop for lighter colors, Pinkqualizer does not add an extra step. Just respect the dry time, avoid puddles, and it behaves very predictably.

Edges and stairs are fastest with a trim pad. Many installers dip-roll successfully without back-brushing once they get comfortable with the flow.
